Ornament / Hageren 38
Hagefen Street in Haifa is located on the northern slope of the Carmel and borders on the southern border of the German Colony. It was on this slope that the Colony’s vineyards grew, hence the name of the street.
In this project of renovating and converting an abandoned residential building into student dormitories, a contemporary architectural element was chosen that characterizes the spirit of the period – the skin – as a tribute to the history of the place.
The design language of the “Ornament” symbolically refers the past, and contributes to a new / old identity of the building in the place.
